Duty Manager
Job Description
We are looking for a proactive, responsible, and service-oriented Duty Manager to oversee the daily operations of the property and ensure exceptional guest satisfaction. The Duty Manager will act as the manager on duty, coordinating all operational departments, resolving guest concerns, and maintaining high standards of service throughout the property.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, resort, or villa during assigned shifts.
- Ensure all departments operate efficiently and deliver exceptional guest service.
- Act as the primary point of contact for guest inquiries, complaints, and emergency situations.
- Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Monitor the check-in and check-out process to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, Food & Beverage, and other departments.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and operational facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and health & safety regulations.
- Supervise staff performance during shifts and provide guidance when necessary.
- Prepare daily operational reports and communicate important updates to management.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, and operational challenges.
- Support revenue opportunities by maintaining service excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with VIP arrivals, special events, and important guest requests.
- Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager or Operations Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager, Front Office Supervisor, Assistant Front Office Manager, or similar position is preferred.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera, Cloudbeds, or similar systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call when required.
- Well-groomed, professional, and able to represent the company positively.
