Job description for Driver Ambulance at RS Sedayu General Hospital
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transporting Patients: Drive ambulances to emergency scenes, hospitals, clinics, or between medical facilities, ensuring patient safety and timely arrival.
2. Assisting Medical Staff: Help paramedics and EMTs with loading and unloading patients on stretchers, handling medical equipment, and providing basic first aid or oxygen if required.
3. Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect the ambulance before each shift, check fuel, oil, transmission fluid, coolant, and wiper fluid, and report any needed repairs. Ensure the vehicle is clean, sanitized, and stocked with medical supplies.
4. Documentation: Maintain accurate driving logs, record patient information, travel times, mileage, and any incidents during transport.
5. Emergency Response: Remain calm under pressure, follow traffic regulations, and respond quickly to emergency calls while prioritizing safety.
Required Qualifications
1. Education: High school diploma or GED; some employers may prefer an associate degree in a related field.
2. Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, first aid and CPR certification, and sometimes EMT experience or specialized certifications like BLS or HAZMAT.
3. Experience: Typically, at least two years of driving experience; prior experience in emergency medical services is advantageous.
