DevOps / Platform Engineer
About the Role
DDN is looking for a hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineer who will take ownership of the infrastructure and software delivery platform behind our digital products and client projects. You will work closely with Tech Leads and cross-functional engineering teams, including Software Engineers, QA Engineers, and Project Managers, to build reliable infrastructure, improve software delivery, strengthen security, and maintain stable production environments. This role goes beyond server maintenance and deployment execution. You will be involved across the software delivery lifecycle — from source code, CI/CD, containers, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, security, to production operations.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Manage infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Operate containerized applications using Docker and Amazon ECS
- Maintain consistent development, staging, and production environments
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability using Grafana, Grafana Alloy, Prometheus, AWS CloudWatch, or similar tools
- Troubleshoot incidents across infrastructure, networking, deployment, database, container, and application layers
- Improve infrastructure security, access control, secrets management, and secure CI/CD practices
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and improve engineering efficiency
- Identify and address infrastructure risks, technical debt, performance issues, and unnecessary cloud costs
- Work closely with Tech Leads on architecture, deployment strategy, production reliability, security, scalability, and technical risk mitigation
- Participate in production incident investigation, root cause analysis, and preventive improvements
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, or a similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and production cloud infrastructure
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform
- Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Solid understanding of Docker and Linux
- Good understanding of networking concepts including DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, reverse proxy, load balancing, and connectivity troubleshooting
- Experience with monitoring and observability, including metrics, logs, dashboards, alerting, and troubleshooting
- Understanding of AWS IAM, least privilege, secrets management, secure CI/CD, and basic OWASP security principles
- Comfortable with Bash/Shell scripting and CLI-based automation
- Able to read and understand application code, configuration, logs, and stack traces to troubleshoot production issues
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong ownership mindset — able to identify problems, propose solutions, implement improvements, and follow them through to completion
- Comfortable collaborating with Tech Leads and engineering teams while independently owning DevOps and platform responsibilities
- Application & Troubleshooting Skills
You should be able to:
- Understand basic application structure and configuration
- Read application logs and stack traces
- Understand environment variables and runtime dependencies
- Follow basic API requests and responses
- Identify whether an issue is likely related to application code, infrastructure, networking, database, containers, configuration, or CI/CD
Experience with Go, PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Node.js, Laravel, React, or similar technologies is a plus.
Collaboration
As a DevOps / Platform Engineer, you will act as a technical partner to Tech Leads and engineering teams, rather than simply functioning as an infrastructure support role.
