Primary Job Duties
- Manage server hosting and setup for website hosting in LAMP environments.
- Perform Application Performance Monitoring (APM) using New Relic or other relevant tools and suggest improvements.
- Debug and identify root causes of slowness or performance issues on servers and databases.
- Develop and implement DevOps automation processes.
- Conduct analysis and maintenance activities, including but not limited to penetration testing, SonarQube analysis, GTmetrix, and PageSpeed Insights.
- Implement server orchestration using Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability.
- Maintain and update server configurations and related infrastructure.
- Proactively research and keep abreast of new technologies in server management, orchestration, and performance monitoring.
- Troubleshoot system and infrastructure bugs and issues.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge and experience in managing server hosting and setup, particularly with LAMP stack.
- Strong experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes for server orchestration.
- Proficiency in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools (e.g., New Relic).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving server and database performance bottlenecks.
- Familiarity with DevOps automation processes and tools.
- Knowledge of PHP, Python, and Bash/Shell Scripting.
- Familiarity with tools and methodologies for analysis and maintenance such as penetration testing, SonarQube, GTmetrix, and PageSpeed Insights.
- Advanced knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, replication, clustering, and performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with Git Version Control Software.
- Hard-working and team-oriented.
- Ability to focus on multiple projects at once and to troubleshoot problems quickly.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at a given time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Related Field, or Equivalent Experience.
- 2+ Years Professional experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, or similar role.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Digital Ocean, AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
