Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to manage meal preparation for a large workforce at a coal mining site in Kalimantan. The Cook will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of the labor force, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for a large number of workers, including local and traditional dishes.
Plan menus based on available ingredients and dietary requirements.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen and dining area.
Monitor and manage food inventory, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
Collaborate with site management to accommodate dietary restrictions and special meal requests.
Ensure timely meal service according to shift schedules.
Train and supervise kitchen assistants if required.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 3 years of cooking experience in large-scale kitchens, preferably in remote or industrial settings.
Education: Culinary certification is preferred but not mandatory if experience is sufficient.
Skills:
Ability to prepare diverse and balanced meals, including Indonesian cuisine.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Strong organizational skills to handle large meal preparations.
Good communication skills to liaise with site management and kitchen staff.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work long hours in a remote and demanding environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in mining, oil, gas, or other industrial site kitchens.
Familiarity with Kalimantan's local ingredients and culinary preferences.
Basic knowledge of nutritional requirements for labor-intensive workforces.
