Job description for Content and Outreach Officer at KOPERNIK
- Develop, craft and execute compelling communications messages and create the editorial calendar for Kopernik’s digital channels, including content creation and scheduling.
- Manage Kopernik’s social media channels to engage and excite our various audiences and mobilize greater support to help Kopernik’s mission and work.
- Engage with and respond to supporters, donors, and other key stakeholders via social media channels.
- Prepare monthly analytics reports of Kopernik’s social media channels.
- Actively look for new opportunities to profile Kopernik’s work and expand our audience.
- Gather and craft channel-appropriate and compelling content about Kopernik’s initiatives for a range of communications channels, including project updates, blogs, and news.
- Engage other teams in content generation, spending time to source, assess, and craft content appropriate for external communications.
- Travel to project sites or to events to gather content, and write relevant articles, opinion pieces, impact stories, or releases, as required.
- Support the development and production of Kopernik’s visual communications and digital initiatives.
- Constantly monitor international development sector publications to ensure that planned content aligns with current topics and trends.
- Identify, establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and influencers in public and private sectors to be engaged in Kopernik’s initiatives.
- Strengthen existing relationships with government, media, influencers, and other stakeholders from the public and private sectors to maintain their support and to expand Kopernik's influence.
- Organize visits from community organizations, universities or other institutions.
- Identify and organize community outreach initiatives, events, and other forms of engagement to share Kopernik’s experiments and findings, and to encourage replication or collaboration in the future
- Respond to general inquiries on Kopernik’s website & other external channels.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Indonesian.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Passionate in writing and developing compelling digital content.
- Ability to work quickly and deliver projects to tight deadlines.
- Ability to create high-quality content from a loose concept under tight deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage colleagues and external partners in content production.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to work independently when needed and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a multicultural and interdisciplinary working environment.
- Qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or another relevant field, with at least two years of professional experience.
- Highly developed written communication skills – in both Indonesian and English – with a love for writing and language.
- Ability to critically analyze social media activities, and to develop and execute effective strategies to increase engagement and growth.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking ability – able to assess and determine key components or ideas that make compelling content.
- Strong knowledge of digital content production best practices and the tactics that build increased audience bases.
- Experience using digital marketing tools and platforms, including MailChimp, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other Google tools is an asset.
- A strong interest in staying up-to-date with the latest conversations, trends and practices in international development.
- Willingness to travel to project sites or attend events, capturing compelling stories, still images and video footage.
- A commitment to Kopernik’s culture and values in reaching underserved communities.
- Indonesian national.
