Construction Project Lead

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee the development, construction, renovation, and fit-out of retail stores and commercial spaces, particularly within shopping malls and other retail locations.

The Project Lead will be responsible for managing projects from planning and site preparation through construction, fit-out, and handover, ensuring that each project is completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the required quality and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end store development, renovation, and fit-out projects, from planning through handover.
• Develop and monitor project timelines, budgets, milestones, and resources to ensure projects are delivered according to plan.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, mall management, and internal stakeholders throughout the project.
• Review construction drawings, layouts, specifications, and other project documentation.
• Conduct regular site visits and monitor construction progress, workmanship, quality, and compliance with approved designs and specifications.
• Manage project costs, procurement, variations, and budget utilization to ensure effective cost control.
• Coordinate project requirements and approvals with mall management, landlords, and relevant parties.
• Identify potential project risks, delays, technical issues, and cost implications, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure construction and fit-out activities comply with applicable regulations, mall requirements, safety standards, and company guidelines.
• Provide regular project progress updates, including timeline, budget, issues, risks, and required follow-up actions.
• Coordinate the final inspection, defect rectification, completion, and handover of stores to the relevant internal team.
• Manage multiple store development projects simultaneously while ensuring consistent quality and timely completion.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, construction, store development, or fit-out projects.
• Proven experience handling retail stores, shopping mall projects, commercial spaces, or similar projects.
• Experience managing store opening, renovation, fit-out, or refurbishment projects is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction, fit-out, MEP, interior, and building works.
• Experienced in coordinating contractors, vendors, consultants, mall management, and multiple stakeholders.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings, layouts, and project specifications.
• Strong project planning, budgeting, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Willing to conduct frequent site visits and travel to project locations as required.
