Job description for Commis Pizza at 7AM Bakers
About the Role
We are looking for a Commis – Pizza to support our pizza kitchen team in daily preparation and service. This is a hands-on kitchen role suitable for candidates who are passionate about learning pizza production and developing their culinary skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of pizza dough, toppings, sauces, and ingredients.
- Assist with mise en place and daily kitchen preparation.
- Support the Pizza Chef and CDP during service.
- Assist with dough preparation, shaping, and other pizza production tasks.
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.
- Keep the pizza station clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients.
- Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures.
- Minimize food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
- Support the team during busy service periods.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by the Chef or kitchen leadership.
Requirements
- Min 1 year experience as a commis or pizza maker.
- Experience or interest in pizza production is an advantage.
- Passionate about food and willing to learn.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Clean, disciplined, punctual, and reliable.
- Willing to learn and develop culinary skills.
