Job description for Cashier at Avli Modern Greek
Position Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team at our casual restaurant in Uluwatu, Bali. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling customer payments, managing the POS system, and providing friendly and efficient service to ensure a smooth guest experience. You will also support the front-of-house team in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Process guest payments accurately using the restaurant’s POS system (cash, credit cards, and other methods).
Handle opening and closing cash procedures, including balancing cash drawers.
Provide guests with receipts and accurate change.
Answer guest inquiries about menu items, specials, and promotions.
Communicate with the service team to ensure accurate billing for orders.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional cashier station.
Support the team with basic front-of-house tasks, such as answering phones, taking reservations, or assisting with guest seating when necessary.
Follow all cash handling procedures and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
Handle guest concerns or payment discrepancies professionally and escalate to the manager as needed.
Uphold high standards of customer service at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role (preferred).
Proficient English speaking skills required.
Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
Familiarity with POS systems (preferred, but training can be provided).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Friendly, positive attitude and professional appearance.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
