Job description for BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER at Pt Uniair Indotama Cargo
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Acquisition: Map target territories across North Sumatra (Medan, KIM, Belawan, etc.) and lead end-to-end B2B sales cycles to acquire high-margin new accounts across diverse industries.
- Solution Selling: Consult on clients' supply chain pain points and collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Pricing, IT) to deliver tailored logistics, trucking, forwarding, and warehousing solutions.
- Key Account Management: Grow share of wallet with key accounts through up-selling/cross-selling, maintain high client retention, and secure long-term contracts or tender bids.
- Commercial Management: Manage pricing, quotations, and profit margins; monitor logistics cost structures, credit risks, and AR; deliver accurate sales forecasting and market reports.
- Sales Leadership: Lead, coach, and evaluate the sales team; conduct regular pipeline reviews; align sales and operational execution; and drive a target-oriented performance culture.
Requirements & QualificationsEducation:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in any major; equivalent professional background will be considered for candidates with exceptional commercial track records
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience in B2B corporate sales or business development, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial leadership capacity.
- Industry Background: Solid background in Logistics, Express/Courier, Freight Forwarding, Land Transportation/Trucking, Distribution, Contract Logistics, or Supply Chain services.
- Local Market Knowledge: Domiciled in Medan or possessing deep commercial familiarity and an active business network across North Sumatra.
- Track Record: Proven, quantifiable history of achieving revenue targets, gross profit goals, enterprise client acquisition, tender wins, and contract renewals.
- Sales DNA: A proven "hunter" mindset with hands-on capability to generate leads and close complex enterprise deals from scratch.
- Commercial Acumen: Thorough understanding of logistics costing, quotation design, tender submissions, commercial negotiations, implementation, and client onboarding handovers.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CRM systems, spreadsheet modeling (MS Excel/Google Sheets), and sales performance reporting tools.
- Languages: Professional working proficiency in English for business communications and presentations.
- Mobility: Willingness and flexibility to travel across the Sumatra region as required by business needs.
