Job description for Barista at Kinoa Cafe

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages and specialty drinks while delivering outstanding customer service. This role ensures consistency in beverage quality, maintains cleanliness and organization of the bar area and supports smooth café operations to create an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso-based beverages, teas and other drinks according to company recipes and standards.
  • Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewing equipment and other bar tools efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure consistency in beverage taste, quality, portioning and presentation.
  • Monitor beverage preparation times to ensure prompt service.
  • Welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Take orders accurately and provide menu recommendations when appropriate.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding beverages, ingredients, and menu items.
  • Address customer concerns and complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, equipment and utensils.
  • Perform daily opening and closing duties, including cleaning and restocking.
  • Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups and other supplies.
  • Report low stock levels and equipment maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Follow company SOPs, food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Participate in training programs to improve beverage knowledge and barista skills.
  • Work closely with service, cashier and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist colleagues during peak operational periods.
  • Support promotional activities and new product launches when required.
