BAR SUPERVISOR – MiA Asian Modern Restaurant & Bar
Job Purpose
Responsible for supervising and ensuring the smooth daily operation of the bar, maintaining beverage quality and service standards, leading the bar team, and controlling beverage inventory and costs to support guest satisfaction and outlet profitability.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily bar operations and ensure smooth service flow.
- Lead, supervise, train, and motivate Bartenders and Bar Staff.
- Conduct daily briefing before operation and assign staff to their stations.
- Ensure all beverages are prepared according to MiA recipes, standards, presentation, and portion control.
- Monitor the quality, consistency, and presentation of cocktails, mocktails, coffee, and other beverages.
- Ensure bar mise en place and preparation are completed before service.
- Monitor beverage stock, inventory, par levels, and daily usage.
- Prepare and submit beverage requisitions and purchase requests when required.
- Control beverage cost, wastage, breakage, and over-pouring.
- Conduct regular stock counting and report discrepancies to Management.
- Ensure the bar area, equipment, glassware, and storage areas are clean and properly maintained.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and responsible alcohol service standards.
- Handle guest requests, feedback, and complaints professionally and provide appropriate service recovery.
- Coordinate closely with the Service, Kitchen, Hostess, and Management teams during operation.
- Monitor staff grooming, attendance, punctuality, and work performance.
- Assist in creating new cocktails, mocktails, beverage promotions, and seasonal menus.
- Support upselling initiatives to increase beverage sales and outlet revenue.
- Monitor POS transactions and ensure all beverage orders are entered correctly.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash/bar closing when assigned.
- Prepare daily operational reports, including stock issues, wastage, breakage, complaints, and other incidents.
- Report operational problems, equipment issues, and staff concerns to the Bar Manager/Restaurant Manager.
- Ensure all MiA standards, SOPs, and company policies are consistently followed.
- Perform other duties reasonably assigned by Management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Senior Bartender or Bar Supervisor.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, coffee, and beverage operations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of English.
- Strong knowledge of inventory and beverage cost control.
- Good knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
- Well-groomed, responsible, proactive, and service-oriented.
- Able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
