AS400 Programmer
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled AS400 Programmer to join our team, responsible for developing and enhancing system applications based on functional and technical specifications provided by the System Analyst, particularly within financial or payment systems.
Requirement
● Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
● Good communication skill in English (written and spoken) – required for communication with local, regional and headquarter teams
● Minimum 3–5 years of experience as AS400 Programmer (for middle level)
● Minimum 5+ years of experience (for senior level)
● Experience in system integration or enhancement projects is preferable
● Experience in software development project in Banking industry is preferable
● Mandatory programming skills on RPG
● Strong experience in AS400 (IBM iSeries) development and operations
● Good understanding of database concepts (DB2/SQL)
● Experience in system integration and interface handling
● Familiarity with API integration (REST & SOAP) is preferred
● Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
● Ability to perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
● Good understanding of impact analysis for system changes
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Good collaboration with cross-functional teams
● Strong documentation capabilities
Responsibilities
● Develop and maintain application programs based on system design and specifications provided by System Analyst.
● Perform coding, debugging, and unit testing to ensure program accuracy and stability.
● Collaborate with System Analyst, Business Analyst, and Quality Control to clarify requirements and resolve defects.
● Ensure developed programs comply with coding standards, security policies, and system performance requirements.
● Conduct impact analysis on system changes and enhancements.
● Support system integration, SIT, and UAT activities.
● Prepare and maintain technical documentation (program specification, code documentation).
● Address and resolve system defects and issues during development and post-implementation.
