Role Overview
As an Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end support and governance of the Oracle EBS R12 platform, ensuring system stability, optimizing integrations, and driving continuous improvements. You will act as the bridge between business users and technical teams to ensure smooth operations and effective system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
• Service Ownership: Act as the primary point of accountability for the performance, availability, and lifecycle management of the Oracle EBS R12 environment.
• Technical Governance: Oversee custom developments, database health, and system infrastructure performance in collaboration with technical teams.
• Integration & Workflow Management: Manage and optimize data flows between Oracle EBS and external systems, ensuring critical business workflows run without disruption.
• Business Alignment: Partner with Finance and Procurement teams to translate business needs into technical designs and system configurations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Technical Experience
• Oracle EBS R12: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting, configuring, or managing Oracle EBS R12 environments.
• Core Development: Strong proficiency in PL/SQL for data analysis, troubleshooting, and backend customizations.
• Infrastructure & OS: Solid experience working within Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments (e.g., navigating directories, checking logs, basic scripting).
• DBA Understanding: A firm grasp of Oracle Database administration concepts (cloning processes, patch application, tablespace management, performance tuning basics) to effectively collaborate with core DBAs.
• Oracle Workflow: Practical experience designing, modifying, and troubleshooting custom and standard Oracle Workflows.
• System Integration: Proven experience designing and managing integrations with Oracle EBS (using APIs, open interfaces, Web Services, or ETL tools).
Functional & Module Knowledge
• Finance Modules: Solid understanding of core Oracle Financials (General Ledger/GL, Accounts Payable/AP, Accounts Receivable/AR, Cash Management/CE).
• Procurement Modules: Solid understanding of Oracle Purchasing (PO), Procurement, or Oracle Sourcing.
Skills & Leadership
• Strong vendor management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Proven ability to root-cause complex system issues under pressure.
• Experience managing application lifecycles, upgrades, or major patching cycles.
