Job description for Animation Rigger at Luz Eterna
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain high-quality character, prop, and creature rigs for animation.
- Develop custom rigging solutions, including facial rigs, muscle systems, and dynamic simulations.
- Collaborate closely with animators to ensure rigs meet animation and performance needs.
- Integrate and test rigs within Unreal Engine to ensure they function properly in real-time environments.
- Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to deformation, controls, and animation pipelines.
- Optimize rigs for performance, ensuring efficient use in both real-time and offline applications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Rigger, with a portfolio showcasing rigged assets (characters, props, creatures).
- Strong proficiency with Maya or Blender for rigging and animation workflows.
- Experience with Unreal Engine, including rig integration and real-time testing.
- Solid understanding of IK/FK setups, deformers, weight painting, and skinning techniques.
- Ability to create user-friendly controls for animators.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with animators and technical artists.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with motion capture workflows and data integration.
- Knowledge of Blueprint scripting in Unreal Engine.
- Experience in animation industry
- Understanding of muscle systems or other advanced rigging techniques.
