Job description for Agronomy Specialist at PT. Koltiva
- Expand company and client understanding of sustainable cultivation of cocoa
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Koltivas agri-tech solutions through research and coordination with various departments.
- Provide new content for farmers in Koltivas applications.
- Create training modules and guidelines.
- Lead a team of Monitoring and Capacity Building Officers ensuring Koltivas program staff have the technical knowledge, skills, and tools needed to deliver high-quality training and coaching to farmers, and to collect accurate and high-quality data.
- Analyze agronomy and supplier data to help make data-driven decisions and identify actionable insights in relation to agricultural practices and sustainability approaches.
- Evaluate existing agronomy data and coordinate with the Data Support and Implementation Teams with data quality improvement and data corrections.
- Help to test and review new apps with focus on agronomy data calculations, question rules and parameters.
- Coordinate with the Key Account, Product, and QA teams on app improvement and requirement clarification.
- Participate in internal and external working-groups and meetings. External events can include supply-chain audits, seminars, and conferences, professional organization and institutions, customer meetings.
- Masters degree in agriculture, forestry, or other related majors
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant field
- Proficiency in English language (both written and spoken)
- In-depth knowledge of cocoa cultivation, supply chains and related issues
- Knowledge of other plantation crops (coffee, rubber, oil palm or others)
- Experience with certification standards for smallholder farmers (Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, Organic etc.)
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of basic data analysis
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mind and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
- Willingness to learn new things
- Willingness to work in Makassar, Jakarta or Bali and travel domestically and abroad
