Job description for Accounting & Tax Assistant Department Head (BATAM) at Ktu Shipyard
Job Description
- Adhere to proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Take responsibility for accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
- Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions
- Ensure the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
- Supports budget and forecasting activities
- Analyzing financial data and creating reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties, such as vendors or lenders
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Responds to inquiries from the Director of Finance, Controller, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like
- Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
- Act as the key point of contact and support for our local and regional taxation matters
- Establish appropriate system or processes for tax risk management for the Group
- Responsible to legally minimize tax liabilities through the informed application of tax laws and regulations
- Prepare and review tax calculations, estimates and reports accruals and purpose partnering with country, regional and corporate finance, tax, legal business and operations terms
- Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business operation matters to the Group
- Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns
- Identify and mitigate tax risks
- Manage tax provision and tax compliance process
- Maintain tax balances on general ledger
- Prepare all tax papers on a regular basis and handle all information data requests
- Liaise with tax authorities and provide tax audit support for the Group
- Manage external tax authorities and consultants locally and regionally
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
Requirement
- Preferable maximum 40 years old and based in Batam
- Holding an Accounting degree as an educational background
- Preferable to hold Brevet A & Brevet B Certificate
- Preferable to hold CA or CPA Indonesia
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
- Thorough knowledge of SAP or Oracle
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills & experience with other financial systems
- Prior experience in tax strategy implementation, planning support and project management will be advantageous
- Thorough knowledge of Indonesia Tax Law and Regulation
- Vast network with independent auditor service and government agency
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and meticulous
- Possess good business acumen and highly adaptive
- Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative
- Independent worker who is able to work well with minimal supervision
- Able to do business trip
