Description
TORAJAMELO (TM) is a B Corp-certified impact enterprise headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia. TORAJAMELO works with indigenous communities, especially women artisans from rural excluded communities in order to achieve the following:
- Economic independence through artisanship
- Preservation of cultural heritage of authentic backstrap loom weaving in Indonesia
- Preventing breakdown of families and community due to emigration
- Exploration on alternative livelihoods and nature through community based ecotourism (CBET), biodiversity and regenerative agriculture projects
TORAJAMELO follows UN SDGs 1 - No Poverty, 5 - Gender Equality, 12 - Conscious Consumption and Production, and 13 - Climate Action.
