(No, the answer is not their names start with a “G”)
To save you some time, we’ll give you the answer: they are both using OKR as part of their execution discipline.
OKR is a goal-setting framework for an organization that encourages discussions about how the work of an individual employee is connected to the overall company’s objective.
OKR is a proven framework and it can do wonders for the company and everyone involved. Just look at Google. Much of Google’s success is being credited to OKR. Even Larry Page himself, one of Google’s co-founders, said so .
Or, take GOJEK for example. Yes, the startup that disrupted both the technology and transportation industry in Indonesia that will soon become a decacorn (a company that has market valuation above USD 10 billion) is using OKR as part of their execution discipline.
Oh, by the way, we’re happy to share that GOJEK is our client! Our engagement with them consists, but not limited to, us coaching their teams to implement OKR properly.

Our Story
We believe there is a gap between Product Management and People Operations that needs to be filled in. Building a successful technology company is beyond just having successful Product and Engineering departments. You need all teams to work together towards the same goal.
We believe they need to understand the purpose or cause that drives the organization and their day-to-day work. They need to know why they’re doing what they’re doing.
We believe this requires a creative solution that fits nicely between product and people.

The above quote is aptly appropriate to explain our motivation. Years of experience have shown us the problems most companies face. No clarity as to where they’re going. No clear expectation of what is expected from any individual, their peers, and their manager. No clear indication of how the work of an individual can support the company’s goals.
As a result, many employees are now disengaged at work. The lack of clarity can also lead to mediocre performance and high turnover rate.
Our goal is for everyone to realize their work matters, no matter how small or how monotonous it might seem. This is the first step to create a better collaboration across teams and produce high-quality work.
That is why Product Narrative here: to provide professional training and coaching for technology companies, specifically for OKR implementation. We want them to experience the magic of OKR: how to set and achieve their ambitious goals and connecting those goals with the work of an individual. Done properly this will transform their company for the better.
