Our Story
NalaGenetics has its roots in the lush landscapes of Papua. In 2016, in a groundbreaking parnetship with the Indonesian health ministry, we embarked on a journey to distribute 1,000 genetic test kits across five villages in Papua and West Papua.
Our findings were pivotal — 20% of the leprosy patients we tested carried a gene that predisposed them to severe reactions to Dapsone, a common anti-leprosy drug. This insight allowed for personalized treatment plans, shaping a safer therapeutic path for those affected.
From these beginnings, our story has been one of connection and expansion. Working closely with medical professionals and research hospitals in Jakarta and Singapore, we've set a precedent for innovation and community-centric healthcare.

Our Technology
We work with various genetic data input, especially whole genome data. Our key capabilities include bioinformatics, engineering, and knowledge base. This allows us to create our own imputation algorithm, AI/ML models, and APIs to integrate into healthcare systems and other clinical decision support systems.
These technologies enable us to unravel the complexity of human genetics, offering precise and actionable health insights tailored to the unique genetic makeup of Southeast Asia's diverse population.
