PT. Sulawesi Cahaya Mineral (SCM) is an Indonesian owned company with total Mining Business Permit (IUP) is 21,100 hectares, located within Routa Sub-district, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia.SCM completed first stage exploration drilling at the end of 2013. Preliminary grade tonnage estimation of potential resources within SCM’s IUP area that have been drilled in the first stage exploration program for three separated prospects indicates:
- Limonite ore for about 119.0 MT @ 1.3% Ni, 0.087% Co, 59.5% Fe2O3, and 2.17% MgO (cut off Ni>1% and MgO<4%); and
- Saprolite ore for about 22.6 MT @2.16% Ni, 0.042% Co, 28.3% Fe2O3, and 16.4% MgO (cut off Ni>1.6% and MgO<4%)
Previously Rio Tinto as the project former owner published a total of 162 MT of 1.62% Ni ore and internally calculation shown a potential of 349 MT of lateritic nickel ore for whole potential area in the tenement.
