Deskripsi
Cita Tenun Indonesia (Indonesia's Handwoven Textile) is a non-profit organisation initiated by Okke Hatta Rajasa and a group of women who hold a deep appreciation for Indonesian traditional handwoven fabric or Tenun. Established on 28th August 2008, Cita Tenun Indonesia (CTI) envisions preserving Indonesia's traditional Handwoven (Tenun Nusantara) as a valuable cultural heritage. CTI's programme consists of three main components: preservation, education, and marketing. These encompass training and the development of artisans to enhance their product quality in collaboration with various partners and expanding the markets both within and outside of Indonesia. The World Craft Council (WCC) has bestowed several accolades upon CTI and the affiliated artisans for their Tenun works from Lombok, Sambas, Palembang, and Jembrana (the western part of Bali).
